The Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital (KOMDIGI) has released a draft Ministerial Decree 2025 detailing the list of telecommunication and consumer devices that must comply with technical standards and obtain DJID/SDPPI certification.
🔍 What’s the Regulation About?
This regulation is based on Ministerial Regulation No. 3 of 2024 and defines the mandatory certification scope for devices with communication functionalities — either primary or secondary (such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LTE, 5G, etc.).
📋 Examples of Devices That Must Be Certified
Key categories include:
- Mobile Devices: Smartphones, feature phones, smartwatches
- Network Infrastructure: Routers, base stations, microwave links
- Smart Appliances: Smart refrigerators, air conditioners, and washing machines
- Entertainment Devices: Smart TVs, speakers, game consoles
- Automotive and ITS Devices: GPS trackers, radar sensors, wireless head units
- IoT Modules & Communication Components: NFC readers, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth modules, LPWAN
- Broadcast Devices: Studio links, IRDs, DVB-T2 boxes
Even non-primary telecom devices with wireless functions are now regulated.
🗓️ When Will It Apply?
The regulation will come into effect 30 days after its official issuance. All listed devices must comply with the DJID technical standards and obtain proper certification before being sold or used in Indonesia.
