January 18, 2024 – BBPPT held another socialization and technical guidance on January 18, 2024 at Avenzel Hotel Cibubur. Many participants, both offline and online, attended the event, which proceeded smoothly.
TELECOMMUNICATION DEVICE TESTING SERVICES BY BBPPT
During the socialization, BBPPT explained about the guidelines for testing telecommunication devices and/or equipment. BBPPT explained that there are two testing services available, namely laboratory testing (in-house test) and field testing (on-site).
In both laboratory testing (in-house test) and field testing (on site), the verification of functions has been eliminated to reduce costs and expedite the testing process. Instead, applicants now have 10 days to reset test items or 5 days to repair/replace test items.
Eliminating function verification during testing allows the technician team to be present for both offline and online assistance. This ensures immediate resolution of any problems that may occur during testing.

Regarding the duration of testing time, BBPPT explained that what previously took 17 working days is now shortened by dividing the testing time into clusters, based on the functions possessed by the telecommunications equipment/devices.
SIMPLE INTEGRATION WITH NEXT GEN CERTIFICATION
The main idea of the integration of SIMPEL and Next Gen Certification is a one-stop service which aims to facilitate applicants in submitting documents for SDPPI certification. In the application, the applicant simply opens the Next Gen Certification application, clicks ‘Yes’ on the ‘Select data from BBPPT’ menu section, and all data filled in at the beginning of the test will be automatically populated. Consequently, the applicant only needs to fill in the remaining data.
SAR TESTING PLAN
The plan regarding SAR testing, which was planned to take effect on December 1, 2023, is now postponed because laboratory readiness is still in the evaluation and preparation stage. Until now, an exact date has not been determined regarding SAR testing at BBPPT. For SAR feature testing, it is planned that there will be a 15 working day testing cluster.
